SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- At 9:30 members of the American Dairy Association joined fair officials to unveil the sculpture for the 41st consecutive year of the fair. "Cow Power" is this year's sculpture and marks the seventh straight year the sculpture has been assembled by sculptor Jim Victor and his wife Marie Pelton from Pennsylvania.
"Cow Power" is being kept cool in about a 30 degree showcase and will rotate in the center of the Dairy Products Building throughout the duration of the fair.
The 800 plus pound model of butter took about 10 days to put together and in the past we've seen it represent themes of all kinds. This year's theme shows a cow delivering milk from an old fashioned milk truck.
