WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The students at Jefferson Community College in Watertown are doing some experiments, hoping to show others just how fun chemistry can be.
Chemistry Week is an annual event at the college. This year, students were showing off how to make ice cream from dry ice. They started fires with chemicals and even used butane to blow the top off of a tennis ball can.
Students say it's a blast.
"We're just getting out here," said student Nick D'Alessandro. "A lot of people perceive chemistry as like a boring subject, but we're trying to get everyone out here and show them that chemistry can be fun if you actually take the time to learn it."
The students will be doing these experiments all week. Friday afternoon, there will be a full show with about a dozen different experiments.
