Our test drive was quite enjoyable, starting with the interior details and the SYNC system with voice commands, which worked flawlessly. The ride was certainly truck-like, but it handled well, with a tight turning radius for an SUV. Fuel economy was also impressive for an SUV. The Explorer Limited offers plenty of storage with the third row seats down and the color choices really allow you to personalize your ride. If you add every option, you’ll have all the luxury and storage options you want for your vehicle.

The Ford Explorer comes in base, XLT and Limited trims. It is a car-based crossover SUV and can carry up to seven people. For 2012, Ford added a turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which is optional on all trims. All-wheel drive is also available on all trims.

Competes with:
•Chevrolet Equinox
•Jeep Liberty
•Mazda CX-7
•Hyundai Vera Cruz
•KIA Sorrento

Likes:
•Upscale cabin materials and design
•Plentiful high-tech features
•Excellent ride and handling balance
•SYNC system is excellent

Dislikes:
•Tight third-row seating

The 2012 Ford Explorer Limited offers solid on-road dynamics, fuel efficiency and a high-class cabin with great features and technology.

Remember, when shopping for a new car, test drive as many vehicles as you can in the class you are looking in to make sure you find the car that is best for you.
