JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating a one car crash that killed the driver. The car was actually discovered by Watertown's state police captain.
State Police say Captain Darrin Pitkin was traveling on Military Road in the in the Town of Brownville when he saw a 2004 Ford Mustang off the road in a wooded area. Pitkin found the body of Albert Buker, 53, of Glen Park, several feet away from the car.
Investigators believe the tires of Buker's car went off the road and he over corrected, causing him to go off the road completely and hit a tree.
Police are not sure when the crash happened, but a neighbor says she heard a loud noise around 12:45 a.m. Monday. That's about seven hours before Pitkin found the body.
