We have arrived at Day 15 of the 40-day 2012 Saratoga season.

  • An 11-race program is scheduled. Six of the first seven races of the day are on turf. The first post is 1 p.m.

  • Multiple Grade 1 winner Shackleford tries six furlongs for the first time in his career in the featured Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt. In his first start since winning the Met Mile on May 28, Shackleford has drawn the rail in the eight-horse field. Among the contenders is Godolphin's Emcee, who was third in the Tom Fool and fourth in the Carter earlier this year.

  • Prescott Brown, a 3-year-old son of Marylou Whitney's Grade 1 winner Bird Town, tries turf in the third race. The Awesome Again colt finished fourth on dirt in his debut in March at Gulfstream Park and trainer Nick Zito has been training him on grass for several weeks.
