The Spa Spot: Morning Breeze

<span style="color:#cc0000"><em>The Spa Spot: </em></span>Morning Breeze
A 10-race program, including six on the turf, on "Fabulous Fillies" day, the fifth Friday of the season. All 10 races are for females and money will be raised during the day for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Anyone wearing pink will receive free admission. First post is 1 p.m.

  • The restricted Summer Guest Stakes for 3-year-old fillies that have never won a graded race will be the second contest. Most of the runners have stakes experience, but the likely favorite is the Todd Pletcher-trained Ciao Bella, who is unbeaten in two career starts.

  • The 33rd running of the Yaddo for New York-breds is the fourth race on the program. Gitchee Goomie and Hessonite meet again for the fifth time. Gitchee Goomie has beaten Hessonite the last three times they've met and also won the Yaddo last year. Hessonite is coming off a win in the Irish Linnet, a race named for a mare who owned the Yaddo during her prime.
