SARATOGA RACE COURSE – A dominant finish in Sunday’s Alabama Stakes and we're just six days away from the granddaddy of the season: Travers.

With the 132nd running of the Alabama Saturday and $600,000 were on the line for the three-year-old fillies.

Questing took the race with jockey Irad Ortiz Jr., running the fastest time since 1990 when Go For Wand won it and setting the stage for next weekend's big event, the 143rd Travers Stakes.

"This year's Travers is going to end up being a stage where people can make their reputation. Yes we know that Alpha is a nice horse and won the Jim Dandy but there's some other horses coming into this race and have an opportunity to step out on the stage and make a name for themselves. I'm going to be looking to see if they run as fast as they did yesterday, when Questing just demolished the field in the Alabama because they, too, will be running a mile and a quarter," said racing analyst Mike Kane.

And don't forget, Sunday is another giveaway day at the track. Fans will receive a Saratoga pilsner glass while supplies last.
