BCC holds remembrance service
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Staff and students at Broome Community College gathered Thursday morning to remember those who lost their lives in the shooting. The campus remembered the victims through song and remarks given by faculty members.
BCC is also doing what it can to help the families of the shooting victims. The college's "Broome Educators of Children Association" is kicking off a campaign to help the children who lost their parents that tragic day.

"We thought it would be a good idea, since we are involving children, that it would be a good idea to show them that we do care about them and that there are good people in the world who are really going to look out for them. And hopefully they can regain their trust in other people," said BCC sophomore Tara Schmitt.
Starting Thursday, BECA will be collecting money to buy gift certificates and care packages for the children of the shooting victims.
