SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Outfielder Corey Brown and starting pitcher Zach Duke have been catalysts for the Syracuse Chiefs' recent turnaround, and on Wednesday the players' efforts were rewarded as they were named to the International League All-Star team.
Brown is third in the league with 17 home runs, third with 27 extra-base hits, eighth with 45 RBI, and 10th with a .298 batting average. Duke, who was a Major League Baseball All-Star in 2009, leads the league with nine wins and is fourth with 90 1/3 innings pitched.
The Triple-A All-Star Game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11 in Buffalo.
