SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Despite having his team's season end earlier than usual for the third-straight year, Syracuse men's lacrosse head coach John Desko believes the experience gained by his mostly-young squad will pay dividends next year.

The Orange struggled to a 7-7 regular-season record but won the inaugural Big East tournament to clinch a berth in the NCAA tournament. But their run would go no further thanks to a 12-9 loss to Duke--the third year in a row SU failed to make it past the quarterfinals and second time in that span it lost in the first round.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse men's lacrosse program is 3-0 vs. Duke in the NCAA tournament but 1-3 in true road games in the postseason, but neither side is putting much emphasis on history as they get ready to meet again Saturday in the first round.

Of much more relevance, the teams met earlier this sesaon with Duke winning 12-10 at MetLife Stadium in early April, but even that game only holds so much weight as both teams say they have improved since then.

Gametime Saturday is noon and ESPN will provide the telecast.
