ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Christian Patterson may be charged with murder in the death of an Oneida County sheriff's deputy, but it remains to be seen whether his trial will take place in Oneida County.

Patterson's lawyer confirms he's filed a motion requesting a change of venue to make it easier to find an unbiased jury. Patterson was charged in the June shooting death of Deputy Kurt Wyman.

Because of the media attention focused on the death of Deputy Wyman, Patterson's attorney is also asking the judge to ban jurors from using social media sites during deliberations.
