WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Kids in Watertown were busy making special treats for animals at Thompson Park's Zoo Saturday.

The concoctions were made for the four River Otters as part of the zoo's enrichment programs. Some of the otters favorite treats were stuffed into squashes and hidden throughout their living space.

Kids say they have lots of fun watching as the animals searched for the food.

Eight year old Cody Schloop said,"Because I like when I get to watch them eat the food. "

Nine year old Jayquan Navarra said,"I think animals are really cool and fun because you get to see all types of them."

Other enrichment programs are held throughout the fall and winter months to help stimulate the animals throughout the zoo, while giving local kids the opportunity to interact with them.
