NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Once again, the Oneida Indian Nation had a float in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. The float is called "The True Spirit of Thanksgiving." It is made up of a turtle, a 30-foot white pine tree, and Iroquois dancers -- all showcasing the tribe's representation of the creation story.
The branches and roots of the pine tree spread the message of peace and thanks throughout the land. The dancers give thanks for the bounty they have been given.
This is the fourth year the float has been in the Macy's parade.
