WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- It's beginning to feel a little bit like Christmas in Watertown. Mayor Jeff Graham and some local children led the countdown to the tree lighting ceremony in Public Square. And the tree isn't the only attraction. It is also part of a music and lights display.
This year's display features more than 15,000 LED lights that are synchronized to a variety of holiday songs. More than 400 man hours of effort went in to planning and installing the display.
The music and lights portion will run every 30 minutes each night from 4:30 to 10 p.m. through January 3rd.
The entire downtown area is decorated with approximately 125 pole-mounted decorations, accounting for an additional 4,000 lights.
