FORT DRUM -- Fort Drum is slated to get nearly $54 million in federal money to help fund a number of construction projects. The funding was included in the National Defense Authorization Act which was passed by Congress Thursday.
The money will be used for a variety of new projects and upgrades to existing facilities. They include a new Soldier Family Care Clinic, chapel and aircraft maintenance hangar.
Now that the funding has been authorized, lawmakers are expected to pass the appropriations bill this weekend.
