MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. -- The 15-year-old boy accused of setting the fire at his Western New York home that killed his father and two brothers has been formally charged.
Michael Pilato was indicted Friday by a grand jury on six counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and second-degree arson. The High School sophomore is being prosecuted as an adult.
Investigators said that Pilato has admitted dousing his Webster home with gasoline on December 7th and setting it on fire.
Pilato's adoptive father Carmen, and his brothers Peter and Joshua were killed in the fire. His mother and sister were injured, but were able to escape.
