FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating a fire that killed dozens of farm animals in Franklin County. It happened at a barn on Route 11B in the Town of Bangor just after 1 a.m. Monday.

Officials say a passerby saw the fire and alerted the farmer's son by knocking on his door and he called 911.

More than 100 cattle died in the fire.

Investigators are still looking into the cause. They're asking anyone with information to call State Police at (518) 483-5000.
