Two arrested for selling alcohol to minors
WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- State Police in Watertown made two arrests after conducting an underage drinking sting Tuesday afternoon.
Police hit 14 different convenience stores, gas stations and pharmacies in Jefferson County. Twelve of them refused to sell alcohol to an underage volunteer working with police, but two clerks were caught.
One of them was a 21-year-old at Fast Eddy's Kwik Mart on State Route 12 in the Town of Watertown. The other was a 24-year-old working at the Stewart's on Washington Street in the City of Watertown.
Both have been charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor. They were issued appearance tickets and released.
