ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- After a long weekend, three witnesses took the stand on Monday in the Wayne Oxley trial.
Oxley is being tried for the murder of Bernard Trickey Jr. in his home in 2005.
Gary Miles was the acting district attorney for St. Lawrence County the summer of 2005. He was at the scene and at Oxley’s house while it was being searched. Miles said he noticed Oxley was very jittery and his hands were shaking that morning. He also said Oxley appeared cocky and self-assured during the search.
This is Oxley’s third trial. The first trial’s conviction was overturned and the second trial ended in a hung jury.
Testimony continues Tuesday.
