UNITED STATES -- When it comes to free food, a contest usually sparks interest. You can see several ads for the Coin Toss Experience on television, and with the Super Bowl just days away, more and more people are expressing interest.
Fans are encouraged to visit PapaJohns.com and vote for either heads or tails after they enroll in the chain's rewards program. It's free to enroll, and you can vote through February 1st.
Papa John's will announce America's overall vote Thursday, and if that same result comes out during the coin toss Super Bowl Sunday, fans win a large pizza and a two liter of soda.
One local franchisee we spoke to says the contest has been fun so far.
"Oh it's just a blast. You know we're really going to have fun. It's going to be so busy so we're really looking forward to all the people that have been asking about the coin toss and everybody is just ready to go," said Peter Kent, Papa John's North Syracuse franchisee.
Kent says last year, Papa John's offered fans a chance to win a free pizza if Super Bowl went into overtime.
