WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Cooks from across the North Country served up thousands of servings of chili this weekend. The 13th Annual North Country Chili Cook-Off packed the State Office Building in Watertown Saturday.
More than thirty different recipes were available for tasting, all competing for several prizes.
Some first-time cooks said preparing that much chili was a little overwhelming, but still a very exciting experience.
Jennifer Kennedy, Carthage resident said, “It was a lot of work, but that being said, when we got here and we saw all of the people here everybody kept coming through and customers of ours, it was so much fun and it was such a great experience."
The event is hosted by the Jefferson County American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Family each year and raises money for the Jefferson County Volunteer Transportation Center.
