OGDENSBURG, N.Y. -- Ogdensburg police have arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery and homicide from November of 2010.
Anthony LaLonde, 31, Michael Durand, 29, and Michael Thorpe, 25, have been indicted and charged with murder and robbery.
Police say the men attacked Ralph Lawton, 83, and his roommate in their home on Ford Street. His roommate says three hooded figures entered the home and attacked Lawton for his pills. His roommate was involved in the struggle, but was not seriously injured.
"He was supposed to get a delivery that day, I guess. So he had quite a bit of money on him and he had some pills left over. The guy says to him, he goes, 'I want your money and pills’ and kind of mumbled it," said Guy Bartlett, the victim’s roommate.
Lawton died from chest injuries when his attackers threw his roommate on top of him.
All three suspects are being held in St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.
