BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A popular summer event in Binghamton is stopping traffic and also construction.
July Fest takes over downtown next weekend for the festival's 50th year. The festival features three days of arts and crafts, the music of the Jazz Festival and the Parlor City 5k Run.
July Fest takes place on Court Street, which has been undergoing construction. But as the mayor announced Friday, that is being temporarily postponed.
"They'll be shutting down construction for July Fest and we'll have the footprint we were expecting and we really appreciate all their cooperation and it’s been, they said they would do certain things and they're getting them done and we're very happy about that," Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan said.
July Fest starts Friday the sixth at 10 a.m.
