WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Some tense moments for emergency crews as they responded to a fire in a high rise apartment building in Watertown.
Firefighters say a tenant in the Midtown Towers complex was smoking around oxygen tubes and caused a small fire in her apartment on the second floor. The apartment and hallway filled with smoke and the building was evacuated.
The woman was treated at a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation.
The call reminded many firefighters and tenants of a tragic fire at the same building back in 1989 that killed four people.
