SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Drivers who travel on Hiawatha Boulevard in Syracuse regularly might want to consider alternate routes.

Due to construction on the pedestrian bridge that connects to Destiny USA, Hiawatha Boulevard will be closed between Solar and Van Rensselaer Streets until 6:00 pm Thursday.

Officials are encouraging everyone to avoid the area until construction is finished. A detour is set up for Van Rensselaer, Bear and Solar Streets.

The road closure will continue every day from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm until July 25th when construction is expected to be complete.
