SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Nearly a month after announcing their new affiliation, the Syracuse Crunch gave their Tampa Bay executive partners their first taste of the city and the War Memorial on Wednesday.
Lightning vice president/general manager and Hockey Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman, Lighting assistant general manager/Crunch general manager Steve BriseBois, Crunch head coach Jon Cooper, and Lightning assistant general manager/director of player personnel Pat Verbeek toured the War Memorial and said they were pleased with the setup of the rink and also with the promises by the county to improve the locker room and weight room facilities in the building. Cooper also praised the Syracuse fanbase as having a lot of hockey knowledge which he saw first-hand as head coach of Norfolk last season.
