LYSANDER, N.Y. -- A tractor-trailer driver has been ticketed following a crash that killed a Phoenix teen. It happened on Route 690 north near Hencle Boulevard in Lysander just before 3 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say Hezekiah Gray, 50, was trying to travel south on Route 690 when he mistakenly turned onto the northbound lanes. Gray was in the process of making an illegal U-turn across the four lane section of the highway a motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of his vehicle. The rider, Joseph Rogala, 19, was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gray was not injured in the crash. He has been ticketed with failure to obey a traffic control device, driving the wrong way on a one-way roadway, and making an improper U-turn.

Officials say the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and it will be reviewed by the district attorney's office when complete.
