DEWITT, N.Y. -- A man and woman from East Syracuse are accused of stealing antiques from a 75-year-old man with Alzheimer's.

DeWitt Police arrested 27-year-old Christina Searles and 29-year-old Andrew Firnstein.
They said the two, who live together, stole a collection of antique steins and hummels from the victim's home.

Officials said Searles knew the victim and called the victim's family to offer to care for him in early 2012. The family was paying Searles $150 a month. But police said she was getting much more than just the money, taking more than 60 collectibles from the home.

Searles and Firnstein were both charged with third-degree grand larceny, but additional charges are pending as thousands of dollars is also missing from the victim's checking account.
