Police search for suspect in Price Chopper parking lot incident
Police are often on the hunt for suspects, but in one Syracuse case, the search is on for witnesses. YNN's Bill Carey says investigators need help in figuring out a bizarre incident outside a Price Chopper supermarket just before 11 p.m. on Monday.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It is a true mystery to investigators. They're trying to piece together just what happened in a grocery store parking lot on Monday night. They know what they saw. But what did they see?
Surveillance video from Price Chopper shows a car pulling into the parking lot. Then, as another shopper walks by returning a shopping cart, the driver emerges, opens a rear door, pulls out a passenger, a woman, carries her to the rear of the car, puts her in the trunk, then drives off.
“It was a dark colored four door sedan. It had a gold and blue New York license plate. Partial plate of E-955. That's E-955. It had a third brake light in the back window, a rear spoiler and a blue bumper sticker on the driver side of the rear bumper,” said Syracuse Police Detective George Hack.
While police have talked to at least one witness, they know from the surveillance video there were a number of others walking through or driving through the parking lot at the time of the incident.
Witnesses may be helpful in eventually tracking down the car and driver. What they cannot answer is, what happened to that passenger.
Hack said, “We don't know the circumstances under which she was placed in the vehicle in the first place. Whether or not she was held against her will. We don't know that.”
What troubles investigators even more was the fact that the woman was putting up no fight. No signs of consciousness.
“There did not appear to be any movement,” Hack said.
Police say the answer to the puzzle begins to take shape when more witnesses come forward.
Syracuse Police have now released the pictures of two potential witnesses. Police stress these men are not suspects but are believed to have been in the Price Chopper parking lot at the time of the incident. They also continue to ask that anyone with any information about the Monday night incident call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
