SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Forget the mall this weekend. Thousands of items handmade by local artisans are available at Syracuse's annual Arts and Crafts Festival.
The blocks surrounding Columbus Circle are closed and packed with booths and vendors. Offerings range from glass and ceramics to drawings, paintings, jewelry, clothes and more.
Local artists say the event is a highlight each year.
"I specialize in drawings of landmarks around Central New York, mostly Utica/Syracuse area, and a lot of nature scenes in Old Forge. So this venue is perfect for me," RC Oster said.
"I've been doing it for about six years now. Big draw for the local people and it supports local business. It's really a nice fun event," Mary Carlic said.
The Arts and Crafts Festival continues this weekend Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
