Syracuse man wins big on scratch off ticket
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man has won a million dollar lottery scratch off prize.
Ian Hennessey, 24, purchased the Cashword game ticket back in June. He actually bought the ticket in Gloversville because he has family there, but he lives in Syracuse.
Hennessey, who is a car dealer, said he doesn't plan to stop working. And while he doesn't have any grand plans for spending the money, he will probably put it to good use.
"Right now, I don't really have any big plans with it. I have some student loans to pay off. So, I'm going to go ahead and do that. Me and my girlfriend just purchased a house, so put a lot towards that too," Hennessey said.
By the way, the game he won has a lump sum payment of more than $661,000.
