New police chief for APD

AUBURN, N.Y. -- The City of Auburn has a new police chief. Brian Neagle has been appointed to replace outgoing chief Gary Giannotta, who resigned because of displeasure over budget cuts in his department.

Neagle is a 27 year veteran of the Auburn Police Department, serving in patrol and training positions. He also led the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force.

Neagle will take office August 1st. Terms of his employment are still being finalized.
