NEW YORK -- President Barack Obama made a stop in the Empire State Monday, talking to donors at a campaign dinner fundraiser in New York City.
The five dozen supporters in attendance paid $40,000 per plate to attend the private event at Manhattan's NoMad Hotel.
While Obama said the race is currently close, he noted that there were 99 days left to campaign.
Recent finance reports show Obama has been outraised by Mitt Romney for two straight months.
It was also formally announced Monday that former President Bill Clinton will have a headlining role at the Democratic National Convention, as he will give the nominating speech on September 5.
