ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- An unusual sight along the St Lawrence River. A 418-foot retired Navy destroyer, the USS Edson, was passing upbound through the Seaway system, being towed by two commercial tugboats.

The ship is headed for Bay City, Michigan, where it will become part of the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum.

The Edson was launched in 1958 and saw service off Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam before being decommissioned in 1988.
