NEW YORK -- Bird watchers statewide are invited to help monitor wild game birds. The state Department of Environmental Conservation is asking people to help track wild turkeys.

Throughout this month, volunteers track the genders and ages of all turkeys they come across so the state can track the birds' reproductive success. Of particular focus is the Genesee Valley region in Wyoming, Genesee and Livingston counties.
