BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Broome County is cracking down on flood-related fraud. County Executive Debbie Preston announced more than $250,000 in flood-related fraud abuses.
New York State law allows for the replacement of food stamps, when a recipient reports a loss of food resulting from disasters like flooding.
The Broome County Security Division started its investigation into false claims in January.
