SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police were able to catch a suspect on the run after he literally ran into one of their patrol cars Wednesday night.

Officers say they were at the Hedgewood Apartments on West Brighton Avenue investigating a domestic dispute from earlier in the night, when the suspect, Gerald McGill Jr., 28, returned to the scene and broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment. McGill tried running from officers, but ran into a police cruiser on Hatch Street as it was trying to cut him off. He wound up breaking his ankle and is facing numerous charges as well.
