JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- More than 100 antique boats were on display in the Thousand Islands last weekend, but for one business near Clayton, they are a year-round specialty.

Antique Boat America is located on Route 12 in the Town of Orleans, and it brings buyers and sellers of rare water crafts together. The 20,000 square foot warehouse displays items from 19th century canoes, skiffs and rowboats to a 1979 hydro racing boat.

"In a sense, we are a museum. We do have the beautiful Clayton Antique Boat Museum right here in the heart of the Thousand Islands. We like to say we help partner and act as a little arm of their beautiful museum and sharing in the heritage of these beautiful boats," said Michelle Gazdik, sales associate.

Antique Boat America opened in 2002. It is currently the home of about 120 rare and unique examples of boats, most from the Thousand Islands region.
