MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Yates County man who was convicted last week of raping a child under the age of 17 in Madison County has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Edward Dean, 49, pleaded guilty to two charges: Production of child pornography and transporting a minor in interstate commerce to engage in sexual activity.

Authorities say Dean raped a 15-year-old girl on multiple occasions, including during a trip to Pennsylvania and received sexually explicit images from the victim on his cell phone.

Dean is scheduled to be sentenced in December. He faces 15 years to life in prison.
