WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Romney's campaign has escalated it's attack on the political ad claiming that Romney had a hand in the death of a cancer patient. Romney officials released a counter ad to the pro-Obama ad featuring a steel worker who lost his job and health benefits when Romney's firm, Bain Capital, closed the plant.

The man said his wife later became ill, and died shortly after she was diagnosed with cancer. It was later revealed that Romney left Bain before the plant closed, and the woman who passed away actually had her own health insurance.

The White House is taking issue with political ads too. The Obama Administration said the Romney ad criticizing the President's welfare policies is completely untrue. It accuses the President of dropping the work requirements in the Federal Welfare Program. The White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, blasted the claim.
