CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his newly announced running mate, Wisconsin representative Paul Ryan, are expected to arrive in North Carolina.

Gov. Romney was expected in Raleigh on Sunday to kick off his bus tour, but the candidates are now set to arrive Saturday night.

Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, unveiled U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate Saturday morning in Virginia.

Romney's campaign said the two will arrive in Charlotte around 8:00 p.m, and the arrival is closed to the public.

The big announcement came just one day before Romney four-day bus tour through four battleground states, which will include stops across North Carolina.

During the announcement Saturday morning, Ryan said he is ready to help Gov. Romney win the November election.

Ryan is known for his conservative credentials, cutting taxes and spending and a controversial medicare overhaul plan.

The Romney/Ryan bust tour starts in Mooresville at the NASCAR Technical Institute Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a visit to Absolute Style Furniture in High Point at 1:00 p.m.

The stop at Smokey's Barbecue Shack in Morrisville has been cancelled.

Instead, the candidates will travel to Congressman Ryan's home state of Wisconsin for a rally.
