UTICA, N.Y. -- A boil water advisory is in effect Monday for some spots in the City of Utica.

The advisory comes after an early morning water main break on Bacon Street. For at least the next 48 hours, several streets will be affected.

Those streets include Broad Street, from Kossuth Street to Anthony Street and Bacon Street, from Broad to Bleeker Street.

Residents are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before drinking or cooking with it. Residents are also advised to avoid using hot water, and avoid doing laundry as the water may stain your clothes.
