A former employee of a Syracuse plastic surgeon's office is facing charges for allegedly writing an illegal prescription for the daughter of former SU Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine. Our Sarah Blazonis has details and tells us that court documents suggest it wasn't a one-time event.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The date listed on Syracuse City Court documents is June 12, 2012. That's when investigators with the State Health Department's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement say 35-year-old Lauren Havens wrote Sara Fine a prescription for Lorcet tablets.

Havens was an employee with ENT Facial Plastic Surgery in Syracuse, but Fine was not a patient.

Depositions also suggest also suggests she wrote prescriptions for Percocet and Lorcet to others who weren't patients, including Laurie and Sheila Fine.

Dr. Michael Paciorek, Havens' former employer, said: "NONE of the above-named persons are bona fide patients of ENT Facial Plastic Surgery, and I have not written and/or authorized any prescriptions for controlled substances for any of them at any time."

Fine's attorney, Lawrence Fisher, said in a statement, "Neither Laurie Fine nor her family have engaged in any wrongdoing. The Fines are the victims of unfortunate circumstances in this matter."

Also included in the court documents was a deposition from the supervising pharmacist at the pharmacy that filled Sara Fine's prescription. He said he discovered she wasn't a patient of ENT after the prescription was filled and says he'd like to see anyone responsible for possessing or uttering the forged script to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Onondaga County District Attorney didn't immediately comment on the case.
