SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Destiny USA rolled out the runway Thursday night for an event that was all about women.
The Runway Celebration was held to support Ophelia's Place, a non-profit organization that offers support services to women and men looking for help with self-esteem and image acceptance.
The models walking the runway were women representing non-profits, programs that support women in business, like our Lacey Leonardi, and even some young ambassadors. Also making an appearance were a few male celebrities, such as our own Brad Vivacqua.
Organizers from Syracuse Woman Magazine say the night was all about acceptance.
"We, as a part of the media, feel like we need to be part of that positive movement and to tell women that it's okay to be who you are. And if you want to make a lifestyle change, then we're here for you for that, too," said Farah Jadran of Syracuse Woman Magazine.
Many of the clothes for the fashion show were donated by stores inside the mall and food was also provided by two of the restaurants there.
Organizers hoped to raise as much as $4,500 for the non-profit organization.
