MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. -- One of the best things about the Madison-Bouckville Antique Festival is that you never know what you're going to find. Throughout this week, vendors have all been set up along Route 20 as part of Antique Week, leading up to the grand finale which is the Antique Festival.

From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, the main field will open and for $29, early bird shoppers can buy antiques on display from about 350 vendors. Officials say this is your best option to find a great deal.

On Saturday and Sunday, you can check out the same field for just $5 or shop along Route 20 for free. In total it's expected about 40,000 people will visit Madison County for antiques through this week. Officials say there's also plenty of cover on the main field in case there's some wet weather.

"People do come out but it's only once a year, so they come anyway. Even if it rains, they're here, you know what I mean. We have very large tents so there is a lot of cover from the weather. We have new this year, a dining tent this year. So, you can sit down and relax, buy a meal, you're not in any hurry so it's really not weather dependent anymore," said Tom Tarry, The Results Group CEO.

The festival starts at noon today and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

This event continues to be one of the larger draws for Madison County, as this festival is the successor to the Madison County Antique Show which ran for 39 consecutive years until 2010.
