Man arrested on gun and drug charges in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica police have arrested a man after they say he threatened another man with a gun. Police say the man was on the porch of a home on Roberts Street around 1 a.m. when an argument started between him and a group of people across the street.
They say during the argument, a man pulled out a handgun and threatened the victim with it. Officers found the man in a crowd near a local bar after the victim told police about the incident.
Nathaniel Harvey, 36, of Knox Street was arrested. Officers say they found a loaded handgun on him as well as marijuana and nine white envelopes with a powdery substance in them, which they say looked like heroin.
Harvey is charged with menacing, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.
