ANTWERP, N.Y. -- New details have been released about the crash in Jefferson County last month that killed six people. State Police say the cause of the fatal crash in Antwerp was driver inattention by the driver of the tractor trailer, James Mills. No charges have been filed yet.
The accident happened July 19th on Route 11 in Antwerp. Police say Mills hit stopped traffic in a construction zone, causing a chain reaction crash. The first car in the line burst into flames and killed all five people in it. A woman in another car also died in the crash and a DOT driver was critically injured.
