BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- The competition is underway at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott.

Fifty-seven of the top 60 Champions Tour golfers hit the course Friday for the first round of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open. However, many of those players didn't finish because play was suspended early due to rain.

It's been less than a year since the course itself was flooded by Tropical Storm Lee. After the storm last September, 95 percent of the course was under water. Fast forward 11 months and you'd never know the kind of devastation felt here.

"Players are raving about the course, spectators who haven't been here since last year can't believe that we endured a flood because it's in better shape than it was last year and just overall, everyone is happy and excited about Champions Tour golf," said John Karedes, Dick’s Open Tournament Director.

Grammy award winning artists Train also performed Friday night at the annual Dick's Open concert. The tournament continues Saturday.
