It's a collector's dream come true, an array of just about everything, ready for them to sift through and take home to put on display. But as YNN's Erin Clarke tells us, Madison-Bouckville Antique Week is a can't miss event for both collectors and the folks selling them items.

BOUCKVILLE, N.Y. -- Deborah Lucid and her husband know that one man's trash could be another's treasure.

"I primarily sell like glass and china and my husband sells mostly old books, old paper. Stuff that people should have thrown away a long time ago," said Lucid.

If you're thinking it's just junk, you're mistaken. Lucid say those items hold value and secrets from years past.

"People will come and buy like old letters, old envelopes with old stamps, personal correspondence, old diaries that were from the 1800s. People like to read that stuff."

She and other vendors catering to the unique tastes of collectors come out to Madison-Bouckville Antique Week every year. Harry and Carrier Eck make the trek hundreds of miles.

"We live in Connecticut, but we've been back for 16 years," said Carrie Eck.

They say it's not the money that draws them, though business at the show has been good. But instead, it's the sense of community.

"We stay over with friends and visit with friends and people come from all over the United States."

Some, collectors who depend on seeing the same vendors every year.

"You're getting good, good quality items at good quality prices compared to what you can find in the stores today," said David Bartholomew.

For both the buyers and sellers, it's a lifestyle and so every August, Bouckville becomes their heaven.

Madison-Bouckville Antique Week takes place along Route 20 in Bouckville. The event ends Sunday.
