SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse Opera was back in Armory Square for its annual summer performance.
Saturday night’s “Arias in the Armory” concert was a presentation of this season’s popular opera hits.
Each year, the event allows the community to catch up on what the opera has to offer and look past some of the stereotypes.
Opera Director Douglas Kinney Frost says Armory Square is a great location to attract all sorts of people.
“What’s great about it is the crowd support that we get. It’s a free concert, we get people who haven’t even heard the word opera in their lives, coming to experience it for the first time, and this is a great venue to do it,” Kinney Frost said.
The opera director also said the performers couldn’t have asked for better weather during the concert.
